Cultivated Cottage in Palo Alto

PROJECT

A rewarding partnership between the home owner and Kathleen Bost Architecture + Design shaped the stunning renovation of this historic 1,550 square foot cottage. The key was opening the home up to create flow from living room to family room and out to the expansive green yard.  Anticipating the future creation of a master suite in the attic, one of the three ground-floor bedrooms was demolished to create a larger family room and an open kitchen.  A functional butler’s pantry adjacent to the kitchen houses a workhorse of closed storage.
