Good design is when life is made better by the interface between daily existence and the built surroundings. Kathleen Bost believes that this uncommon confluence should be a common experience.

Kathleen Bost founded her firm with the desire to provide a holistic approach to design, one that seamlessly integrates architecture with interior design. Kathleen believes in a contextual approach to design, considering both the client's desires and the site of every project. Each unique solution is created to fit the life and the work style of those who use the space.

Kathleen Bost received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas, Austin. Drawn by its great history of architecture, Kathleen moved to Chicago to begin her professional life and learned to love classic modernism. While in Chicago, Kathleen worked as an Associate for the design firm of Gary Lee Partners. In 2000, Kathleen was recruited by the firm of Brayton + Hughes to move to San Francisco, the city she now calls home. In 2005 Kathleen joined the firm of Andrew Skurman Architect as a Studio Leader in order to delve deeper into the craft of custom residences. In 2007, Kathleen founded the firm of Kathleen Bost Architecture + Design.

Kathleen is licensed in California and Illinois. She sat on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco chapter of the AIA, is an active member of the AIA Small Business Committee, and enjoys her participation on the Education Committee for the Northern California Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture. In her free time Kathleen tries to fit in a nice run through Golden Gate Park every now and then and to explore film photography.
